Cod Fish In Butter Sauce Recipe


(To Serve 6)

  • 2 small onions

  • 60g butter

  • 800g cod fillets

  • salt and pepper

  • 1/2 freshly squeeze lemon juice

  • handful of finely chopped parsley

How To Cook Cod Fish In Butter Sauce

  • Firstly, chop the onions finely.

  • Melt a spoon of butter in the frying pan and fry the onions slightly for about 5 minutes or until it is soft.  Make sure the onions do not turn brown.

  • Pre-heat the oven to 180o C (350o F).

  • Season the fish with the onion and butter sauce together with some salt and pepper

  • Line the oven dish with some butter and put the fish in. Then put in the rest of the butter before covering the dish with a foil.

  • Bake the cod fish for 20 minutes.

  • Once the fish is cooked, pour out the sauce into a pan. Make sure you cover back the fish with the foil in order to keep it hot.

  • Put the pan over a medium fire, pour in the lemon juice, chopped parley and whisk it until the sauce turn slightly creamy and opaque.

  • Pour the sauce over the cod fish and serve immediately when it is still hot.
